Get Gear
Brian and I have been shopping for bikes and bike parts in Japan and from suppliers overseas for more than seven years, so on this page we just wanted to provide a comprehensive list of shops - both online and storefront - where we like to buy our gear. NOTE: Many of the links below are Japanese only, in which case I've specified it brackets. (Links open in a new window)
Online
Cycle Yoshida (Japanese only)
Excellent online supplier in Japan - decent prices, and you save a fortune on shipping costs that you would have to pay if ordering from the States.
Yahoo! Japan Auction (Japanese only)
The Japanese equivalent to E-Bay, just soaring in popularity. We've made both great bike purchases as well as sales here (sold all of our downhill bikes on the auction, as well as several cross-country bikes).
Jenson USA (English)
Great selection, great service, and ships to Japan without a hassle.
Clockwork Bikes (English)
Based in Minneapolis, this is a small, custom bike builder named Joel Greenblatt. He built Brian's red 29er Single Speed to perfection.
Storefront
Kato Cycle (Nagoya, Japan)
Awesome service, awesome selection and awesome pricing.
Nagoya-shi, Minami-ku, Kakeage 2-8-26

Y's Road (Various shops around Tokyo - visit the website here)
This is the umbrella for a lot of small to medium sized shops around Tokyo. We frequent and enjoy:
Charly's in Ikebukuro
Main shop in Shinjuku
Maniac in Shinjuku
